General Mills and the MOKAN Partnership teamed up with area chambers, the Workforce Investment Board, Crowder College, and other area manufacturers to showcase the amazing technology and systems used in creating everyday products. On October 14, 2021, manufacturers from the region convened at the Newton County Fairgrounds in Neosho, MO, to host a manufacturing expo for high school students.

Nearly 20 exhibitors such as Leggett & Platt, MAPP Technologies, Sign Designs and Schaeffler Group were able to show their products and technology to 300 high school students. Some exhibitors brought products such as Chik-Fil-A sandwiches wrapped in Bagcraft wrappers or fresh rolls made at General Mills. Others, like K&S Wire, brought a cobot arm that is used to make wire shelving for stores such as Dollar General. Still others brought games and fun swag for the students to enjoy. Students from as far away as Springdale High School learned about products made right here in the 4-state area. This was a fun learning event that challenged how manufacturing is viewed by tomorrow's workforce.

SAVE THE DATE! Next year's expo will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022. There will be double the exhibitors and double the cool stuff to see/do!
